cabinet hardware help!

Hello Abode Lovers! So- remember when I had to explain to all of you that the <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/10/wednesday-catch-all.html">kitchen re-do</a> has been put on hold until I can call dibbs on Colonel Dad? Well... I have bypassed this hurdle and have still managed to make a <i>little</i> headway in the kitchen.<i> I ORDERED NEW HARDWARE!!!</i> I really thought that hardware would be something for the future because of the cost... my total came to $421.95 for the original Anthropolgie pulls and knobs that I had chosen... I mean, wow. I know they are like jewelry for the kitchen (and jewelry is important, very, very important), but I really didn't want to spend that much, at all. So- I am trying something else in <i>hopes</i> that it will be just as fabulous as my original, more expensive pick from Anthro. If I decide I don't like them as much- then I will simply send them back... but my fingers are crossed. I was able to get <i>ALL</i> of the hardware for just over $150.00 with shipping! That is huge! <i>(just think of how many pillows and lampshades I would buy with that small fortune!)</i><br /><i><br /></i><br />I would love to hear honest opinions on this matter- I will of course take photos when I get them... but what is your reaction, right out of the gate? So- I have been a busy girl lately... as all of you Abode Lovers know, I have been working on my kitchen <i>(check out these old posts <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html">here</a>, </i><i><a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/08/grrrrrrrrranite.html">here</a></i><i> and <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/08/fab-faucet.html">here</a>)</i> for quite some time. I have even had some of my readers ask about my slow <i>(and not so steady)</i> progress. Want to know my excuse? Well, Colonel Dad isn't available very often- and he knows everything about everything. He has expertise in tile, sheetrock, mudding, lighting, electrical stuff, you name it, he's got the knowledge and the gusto to get it all done. He is slightly short on time... so, I sit around waiting for him to call me <i>(which is fine by me, I am just so thankful to snag him when I can!)</i>. My mom also has a long <i>honey-do</i> list at her lovely abode... so, as you can probably figure... we tend to argue over who gets custody of our handyman over the weekend. I am crossing my fingers that I can gain custody for a few hours in the next two weeks... with a wife, 5 kids, 2 dogs, 1 grandson and the travel that goes along with the day job... BUT I really do LOVE the way it's looking! I still just adore the shape of the tiles- and I really love the bright white glossy ceramic against the creamy, eggshell cabinets.
