I have finally, finally made a decision on my hardware for the kitchen. It has been tested and now officially ordered! Hooray! The best part, is that I love them, and I got ALL of them for under $150 plus shipping! Thank you Home Depot- you are the bomb.com. Here are the three knobs/handles/pulls that I decided on: (yes... Well... I went back to the drawing board. I looked at what is currently living in my kitchen's abode that I love... yes, my <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/08/fab-faucet.html">faucet and sink</a> combination. Why abandon that beautiful brushed nickel finish? I ordered a BUNCH of different samples (which is what I should have done from the beginning) and I loved these the most. The last little dangling pull is what sold me on this combination. I cannot wait to get them all in the mail! I will post as soon as I have them installed.<br /><br />Another problem I ran into... t<a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/10/cabinet-hardware-help.html">he knobs and pulls from Anthropologie</a> that would have put me and Mr.Hubbs in the poor house would have been too large for my upper cabinets. The knobs are a lot bigger than you would think.... thank goodness that option wouldn't have worked! Also-- I would have had to order a lot more knobs than handles... <i>which I wasn't crazy about</i>, because of the insane price!<br /><br />Thanks to all of my abode lovers for referencing tons of different places to get hardware! I poured over every knob and pull in this country, I'm sure! So- I have been a busy girl lately... as all of you Abode Lovers know, I have been working on my kitchen <i>(check out these old posts <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html">here</a>, </i><i><a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/08/grrrrrrrrranite.html">here</a></i><i> and <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/08/fab-faucet.html">here</a>)</i> for quite some time. I have even had some of my readers ask about my slow <i>(and not so steady)</i> progress. Want to know my excuse? Well, Colonel Dad isn't available very often- and he knows everything about everything. He has expertise in tile, sheetrock, mudding, lighting, electrical stuff, you name it, he's got the knowledge and the gusto to get it all done. He is slightly short on time... so, I sit around waiting for him to call me <i>(which is fine by me, I am just so thankful to snag him when I can!)</i>. My mom also has a long <i>honey-do</i> list at her lovely abode... so, as you can probably figure... we tend to argue over who gets custody of our handyman over the weekend. I am crossing my fingers that I can gain custody for a few hours in the next two weeks... with a wife, 5 kids, 2 dogs, 1 grandson and the travel that goes along with the day job... BUT I really do LOVE the way it's looking! I still just adore the shape of the tiles- and I really love the bright white glossy ceramic against the creamy, eggshell cabinets. She grabbed this pretty bowl for me along with the stripey orange and white dishtowels at Scott's Antiques in Atlanta. I absolutely adore them... so perfect for fall!
