Anyhow, here they are... the long awaited Restoration Hardware upholstered items have arrived! I went to the grocery store last week and picked up a can of scotch guard, knowing that somewhere in the future, I would have a pretty little creamy, white chair sitting in my living room- but was expecting mid-February as my arrival time... so, I think that by purchasing the Scotch Guard, I <i>willed</i> my chairs to arrive... you know, <i>"If you build it, they will come,"</i> right? man mountain: trunk edition

That's right Abode Lovers! The trunk is for the<a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/09/orange-you-glad-i-did-this-post.html"> Man Mountain</a>! I took a little jaunt down to <a href="http://www.restorationhardware.com/">Restoration Hardware</a> about 2 weeks ago and <i>stumbled</i> across this trunk that I've been obsessed with for months... it was on sale. Not only was it on sale, but I had just received the <i>HUGE</i> RH catalog and inside those gorgeous pages was a g<i>olden ticket</i>... 10% off all sale furniture. So-- what else was I supposed to do? Just stand there... golden ticket in hand and let the sale pass me by?? Nope, no way- I refuse to sit on the sidelines of <i>my</i> decorating life (especially when you get 12 months no interest on your RH card...).  I have been pondering this coffee table situation for almost a year- so I was well researched in options and prices... but it was a tad unexpected (especially when I received it so quickly! As I mentioned yesterday, I was told it could be MONTHS until it's arrival....) The ottoman was fine <i>I guess</i>... but I have dreamed of getting a lighter piece that sits lower to the ground so that it's a more comfortable height compared to the sofa. The dark, chocolate brown leather ottoman felt really heavy in the space- especially once I painted the cream and white stripes. I knew I would have to find something new-- So, I have been going back and forth for months about whether to get something made of wood that's rustic, like a brickmakers table-- OR a trunk. As you can see.... the last item!

So- I have not forgotten about the last item of my ridiculous furniture shopping spree- I am just stretching this process out as long as possible. <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/10/why-ive-been-mia-and-new-furniture.html">Here</a> is the post revealing the 2nd piece!<br /><br />The third and final piece of furniture is actually for Mister Husband's <a href="http://abodelove.blogspot.com/2010/09/orange-you-glad-i-did-this-post.html">Man Mountain</a>. Did he pick it out? Nope. Mister Husband's job is <i>not</i> to pick out furniture... that's my job. However, when I showed Mister Husband (and Colonel Dad) this piece of furniture.... they both felt weak in the knees for the first time about a piece of furniture. (at least <i>I</i> think they were weak in the knees, they may argue otherwise)<br /><br />Anyway... you'll understand when you see it... Abode Lovers.... drumroll please.....<br />TA-DA! why i've been m.i.a. AND new furniture!

what is my problem? Well- I haven't been blogging as much lately thanks to the new <i>"day job."</i> I made a career move a few months ago- I drive a lot more, spend less time at home- but it's worth it! I am still finding my footing and trying to get used to all of the new changes.... With all that said- <i>THAT</i> is why I have been MIA lately. I am <i>not</i> less inspired- just busy!
