I tell you what, after YEARS of being obsessed with these amazing chairs I've found them. Now, if you knew where they were<i> the whole time</i>, please don't burst my bubble-- I almost cried when I spotted these gorgeous chairs on <a href="http://modernica.net/prince-charles-arm-shell.html">Modernica</a>! On top of being simply fabulous, they're also simply too expensive. Bummer for me, bummer for you. Anyone know where I can find these babies at a better price? A few months ago I was commissioned by a super sweet gal that was a Delta Zeta at Auburn University with me to create a wedding shower invitation. We talked colors, venue and overall feel to get the design going in the right direction. DIY otomi runner + lucite

Hello abode lovers and happy Tuesday! I am so excited to share this new project that I finished a few weeks ago! <i>"Why are you<b> just </b>now sharing this project with us?"</i> you ask.... embarrassing as it is, my little abode had been a disaster. Not just a normal messy disaster, but a super <i>hairy</i> disaster. King, our lab, is under the impression that it's his job to cover our home in a blanket of his "poky" white labrador King hair... I guess it's the 100+ degree days we've been having down here in the south! So, I finally got around to vacuuming a small portion of our messy abode so that I could share this project!<br /><br />Super Mom got me this beautiful and extra long otomi runner for Christmas via Ebay and I was finally ready to do something with it! Originally, I thought I would just frame it, but because it's SO long it would be very costly, so I decided to put this project on the back burner until I had a cost effective idea. I thought about it<i> (for months obviously)</i> and decided to mount it between two sheets of plexiglass to give it a finished look and to add a little extra interest to the otomi piece. I took it over to General Dad & Super Mom's abode-- General Dad has a table saw and a good quality drill bit to get this project underway.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">We started by cutting the large piece of plexiglass in half using the table saw. I watched nervously crossing my fingers and praying for the plexi to stay in tact. I cleared off my coffee table and started carefully removing all of the plastic protective covering to the insides of both pieces of plexiglass. I then used double-sided tape to adhere the otomi runner to one of the pieces of plexi. Once the otomi was <i>carefully</i> sandwiched in between the clean plexiglass... I <i>carefully </i>started removing the outer protective plastic covering.<br /><br /><i>Another side note, in a perfect world, I would have had a good 3"- 4" on each side of the otomi of just plexiglass-- but this was the largest piece of plexiglass that I could get my hands on at Lowes and I still feel like it's a great look. There's a lot of silver finishes in my china cabinet so it may be a little too jarring in gold-- I want the otomi to shine, not the hardware that surrounds it. Thoughts?
