Hello abode lovers, thank you all for the "get well wishes" I am still a bit under the weather, but feeling inspired none the less! About a week ago I was searching around Etsy for a tapestry to hang on the wall in my abode and ran across a few gorgeous otomi tapestries. So, now, I'm noticing the pattern EVERYWHERE and am loving it big time. being sick is for the skanks...

Yep, that's right abode lovers, I'm sick. And as far as I'm concerned, being sick when you're an adult is for the <strike>birds</strike> skanks. When I got sick as a little tike, my mom would always get me a warm cuddly blanket and pop in Disney's Cinderella. There was something about those little singing mice that got me feeling better. All the attention you get as a kid when you're sick almost makes it worth it. As an adult, you still have to work, you all of the sudden look like a slacker who doesn't respond to emails <i>(sorry to all of you that I have blatantly ignored this week)</i> and best of all, you look like you've been hit by a truck. You guys should see how glamorous I look... surrounded by tissues and drinking orange juice like it's Bible. <i>(sorry for the Kardashian slang, but hey, those girls get in your head)</i><br /><br />So, aside from complaining about my sickness, I'm going to leave all of you with some beautiful images that have brought me a little joy this Friday morning...<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">This kitchen is perfection. I love, love the rustic wood beams on the ceiling and the collection of antique silver trays is pretty amazing. I really love that the trays are hung from floor to ceiling, I feel like it elongates that wall and makes the space feel larger than it really is. I am also always a fan of white painted brick and a charming, rustic table. I hosted my younger siblings at the abode this weekend and after lots of barbeque and gobbs of halloween candy, it's safe to say that I'm pooped. I had a blast, those kids are the BEST. My kid brother spent most of his time in the Man Mountain playing with Mister Hubbs' xbox and sitting in his car driving chair monstrosity... (which I am still horrified lives in our abode). Anyway, I think the weekend was a success! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So, today I wanted to share a small but fabulous update in the kitchen. As some of you may know, I celebrated a birthday in June-- I never really shared what I got for my birthday so here it is! I know, I know... you're all probably wondering why it took almost <i>6 months</i> for me to share my birthday spoils, well it's because I'm embarassed and ashamed about what I purchased with my birhday money this year. I still have the receipt just in case I can't take it anymore, but I've been living with it this long, so I think it's a keeper. Have you ever heard of buyer's remorse lasting for 6 months?!?
